Alan H. Meincke

Alan H. Meincke is a second-generation family law attorney and the founder and Managing Member of Meincke Houston Family Law, LLC. He specializes in a range of complex domestic relations matters, including divorce, spousal support, child custody modifications, child support modifications, prenuptial agreement drafting and enforcement, adoption (contested and uncontested), post-judgment contempt, third-party custody, grandparent visitation rights, legitimation, and domestic appeals. Mr. Meincke is also a registered domestic and civil mediator in Georgia. With extensive experience in family law, Mr. Meincke brings a depth of knowledge and strategic thinking to his clients’ cases. Mr. Meincke takes great pride in efficiently guiding clients through the challenges of domestic litigation in the North Metro-Atlanta area, including Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb, and Dawson Counties.

Honored as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, Mr. Meincke is recognized among the top 2.5% of Georgia attorneys under 40, based on peer recognition and professional achievement. Before founding Meincke Houston Family Law, LLB, he was a partner at a multiregional firm with over 200 attorneys and also served as a partner at an Atlanta-based litigation firm. His broad legal experience consists primarily of family law but also probate litigation and liability defense, enabling him to approach each case with practical, strategic insight. Mr. Meincke has successfully litigated numerous cases, including those resolved through bench and jury trials, and has argued cases before the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Admissions:

Mr. Meincke is admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts, including the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. An active member of the State Bar of Georgia, Mr. Meincke is also a Barrister in the Hon. Marion T. Pope, Jr. American Inn of Court where he serves on the membership committee. Finally, he is a member of the Forsyth County Bar Association, where he has held various leadership roles, including past president and the Atlanta Bar Association.

Education:

Alan H. Meincke earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2011 and his B.B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business in 2007. Mr. Meincke is also a graduate of South Forsyth High School.

Residing in Milton, Georgia with his wife and two sons, Mr. Meincke is actively engaged in his community. He and his wife volunteer in various capacities and regularly attend North Point Community Church. Additionally, Mr. Meincke serves on the Board of Directors for No Longer Bound, a faith-based addiction recovery organization. Outside of work, he enjoys supporting the University of Georgia Bulldogs, F3Alpha fitness group, Hopewell Baseball, hiking, and good coffee.
